Word of Knowledge by Richard Roberts

Listen I had dreamed of a healing ministry all of my life. In the late 70s I was on a national religious television program, when a woman that I scarcely knew came, was introduced and sat down next to me. And when asked to pray she began to prophesy over me.



I knew she was a fake. I didn't want to be sitting next to her. And she began to prophesy. And there's no way on this earth she could have known what was in my heart, but she read my mail. (LAUGHTER)

She said, "This thing that you've dreamed of all your life, this healing ministry is coming in your life, but it will be different than your father. You father has primarily laid hands on the sick; I'll manifest the word of knowledge through you. You'll speak and people will be healed."



She had no way of knowing. It had to be God. I'll never forget it. I sat there with my mouth open, that she could have known. The only way she could have known was by the gift of prophecy.



When the program was over I leaned over to her and I said, "I owe you an apology." She said, "Why?" I said, "Because I don't like you." (LAUGHTER) And I said, "God showed me that I'm wrong and I apologize to you. I thought you were a fake, but you're not a fake." That woman delivered a gift of prophecy to me. Thank God for Vicki Jamison- Peterson who serves as a member of this trustee board at ICBM. I saw her here last night. Praise God for it.



The gift of prophecy will flow. Suddenly you feel something coming up in you and the first thing you say is "Now I don't want to say that to that person." But if you'll allow yourself, if you will allow yourself....



Just this past Sunday I was preparing to come home from overseas or I should say the Sunday before last, preparing to come home from overseas. And Lindsay was preaching here for Pastor Don Couch, who's here on the front row.



At the close of the service the gift of prophecy began to flow through him over Lindsay, over our middle daughter, Olivia, and over our youngest daughter, Chloe. And what he said...there's no way on this earth that he could have possibly known that unless God revealed it to him.
